Named one of the top ten plays of 2009 by The Advocate, Daniel Talbott's Slipping is an emotional drama about Eli, a high-school senior, who moves with his mother from California to Iowa after his dad's death. But after being mistreated by his closeted ex in California, Eli struggles with the idea of starting a new relationship with the straight star athlete who's befriended him and now wants to get even closer. New Conservatory Theatre Center is known for its innovative productions centered on theatrical work for youth and the LGBT community, and continues that mission with this show, directed by Andrew Nance. The young actors in this production are wonderful and extremely talented. I brought my 5 year old son and he throughly enjoyed it and Oz kept his attention throughout! With the low budget and limited set, the New Conservatory Theatre Center does an excellent job. I will definitely come back for more!Written on Jan 08 2010

A refreshing take on a familiar story. I was even brought to tears by the performance's end. These actors really do a superb job. Everything from the music to the costumes to the acting was excellent.Written on Dec 14 2009

Loved the play. Brought with me 6 and 9 year old girls and both enjoyed it. It was very entertaining and I loved how they managed to tell the story in under one hour.Written on Dec 14 2009

My 8 year old daughter read the book, has seen the movie and thought this was AMAZING! she loved the small theater (50 seats, not a bad seat in the house) She thought is was funny and loved the Munchkins. Great, fun performance for kids and I will take her to other performances they put on!Written on Jan 02 2010
