Tim Hockenberry looks like a preppy Ivy Leaguer—with blond hair flowing, a blue blazer, a white shirt. His speaking voice is smooth and soothing. And then he sits down at the piano and opens his mouth to sing and out comes something between Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan, gravely and marvelous—and his rockin' the house with his great piano playin'. I particularly loved the up tempo, somewhat honkey tonk songs..Great back-up musicians too.

The only thing I didn't like about this show was that the maitre d' seated all of the women in one section in the back—a sort of women's ghetto. It was a small venue with good sight lines from every seat, so it didn't matter for any other reason than it was clearly to relegate us to the back. Why? Otherwise it would have been a four star experience.

Tim Hockenberry is awesome and so is his band.
