Wonderfully performed, this show is a scorching indictment of oil politics in Nigeria and the repercussions for the Nigerian people. Dan Hoyle nails multiple characters, changing his accent, posture, body language and even the shape of his face (or so it seemed) to make everyone from an assassin to a prostitute to an ambassador come alive. I found the pidgin English sometimes hard to understand, but it got easier as the show progressed. Mr. Hoyle even got in his jabs at NGO's and charities whose efforts, however well-intentioned, are often misguided. In all, it was a very thought-provoking evening.

Dan Hoyle is brilliant and I have seen this TWICE and would go see it again. Hilarious, poignant, educational, informative, raw, real, amazing....I would want every single person I know to see this play. I can't wait for his next work! Please go and tell your friends because this really is theater and storytelling and politics and history at its best. I really wish students would go to this!

Highly entertaining and very educational. I went for my interests in the politics of Nigeria, the Niger Delta, and Oil politics. Hoyle's performance gives a look into the lives of many players from the militants, warlords, prostitutes, to the oil workers and ambassadors. I am not much of a theatre person, but I was very entertained with his performance. I also felt that he expanded my understanding of what's happening in the creeks of the delta.
