I really didn't care for this show. It started out okay, but I found myself bored within half-hour. It's really hard for one man to do a 90 minute show and keep things interesting.

Best One Man Show I have seen in a long while. Very funny and entertaining experience. The time flew by on this deep and well done performance.

The play was difficult to follow. I went with 4 others and we all felt that we had trouble following the narrative line. We all had different interpretations, none of which were correct. This is a slow play.

The Actor was great to watch but the story itself was boring.

Excellent performance by David Strathairn, but the play itself was not exciting and gripping as advertised. The comparison to The Da Vinci Code seems especially misplaced. In contrast, the Pianist of Willesden Lane at Berkeley Rep is much more...continued

Man, can that man dance and act and break your heart and raise your spirits about the ephemeral experience of mortality.

I have always embraced every character that David Strathairn has played. This is a once in a lifetime, must see performance.

David S. was good. Basically it's a one-man show. But the play itself -- what a bore!!!!!!!! Dumb lines, boring "plot." Ach! But David S. -- yes, he's a good actor. Go at your own risk.

David Strathairn is a wonderful actor and the staging at ACT is excellent. But the plot is meaningless. I felt like I was in a beginning philosophy class being told how insignificant our lives are in the context of the big universe. I learned...continued

The acting was good and as far as one man shows go, this was one of the better ones. But I did not care for the story of a wandering Jew or the main character and found myself bored soon after the show started.

It was a great joy to spend the evening with this actor and his character. The piece itself, while pleasant, was a bit predictable and not terrifically visceral.

One man shows are tought. But David S. kept me on the edge of my chair the entire time. What a fantastic exploration of life, meaning, and purpose.

Impressive one-man performance by wonderful David Strathairn. In what at first seemed a very long shaggy dog story the one-act event turned into a profound reflection of the human condition. With beautifully timed comic bits all along the way,...continued

If I appreciated the Judeo-Christian myths more, I suspect I would have liked it more. I also don't appreciate the doddering old guy character that the actor played. A little too doddering for me, when I've seen him play some that aren't, and he...continued

The story told by the sole actor for 93 minutes (without intermission) wasn't that interesting and I was dying to leave early. David Strathairn was excellent and proves that even a great actor can not save a weak script.

I'd give it 3 and a half stars because the script was weak towards the end but David Straightharn (sp?) was excellent, so perfectly in character from his first step on stage that I never thought of him being an actor, just a Dutch librarian. The...continued

The accommodations and theater were outstanding. The plot should have been fascinating, but unfortunately proved to be very un-entertaining. It pains me to say so, as I was really looking forward to the story. Too much narration and not enough...continued

David Straithorn is a consummate actor, and I think the production was a good one. For me, the play itself repeatedly strained credulity and did not hold my interest.

The play was wonderful. We have seen David Straithorn in many performances both on stage and in movies. We felt this was the best yet. He evoked the perfect balance of the various qualities in his character - tentativeness, assertiveness,...continued
