Graphic novelist Ben Katchor and composer Mark Mulcahy present their new multimedia pop opera, Up From the Stacks. Set in the 1970s, it's the story of Lincoln Cabinee, a part-time page who retrieves books from the New York Public Library's vast collection. It is while carrying out this mundane job that he unwittingly becomes embroiled in the treacherous business of amusement and vice flourishing in Times Square. Newly commissioned by the New York Public Library and Lincoln Center.
