Performers had an abundance of energy and singers had haunting voices; I would buy CD's if they had them!! Went to Max's Opera Cafe afterwards for fun eats and more live entertainment from the servers!!!!! Parking was a bit difficult, FYI!!

amazing dancers, lots of soulfulness, cultural richness. degree of enthusiasm very high throughout the entire production. would like to have experienced more variety of tone. wanted ear plugs mid way and was ready to have all of the energy stop at the end. but, overall, a beautiful show!

I went to see Viver Brasil with a friend who is an experienced Samba/Brazilian dancer and has studied with many of the Bay Area's top teachers-she was really impressed by the troupe. I also had a great time and hope they return to the Bay Area soon.

In addition to training in Los Angeles with Luiz Badaró and with internationally renowned choreographer Rosangela Silvestre in her signature technique many company members make annual trips to Brazil to refine the company's repertoire, and to absorb and reflect the spirit and expression of Afro-Brazilian culture in Northeastern Brazil. The company is committed to increasing awareness of the rich history of Afro-Brazilian dance and music through performances and residencies in scores of elementary and high schools through school assemblies, interactive dance and music workshops and professional development opportunities for classroom teachers. Viver Brasil’s arts education programs are also available at the college and university level and include dance and music workshops, setting choreography on student ensembles, and lectures on Afro-Brazilian culture and history.
