Hunter) as he works on the explicit novel Giovanni's Room. Released in 1956, the book became known for its complex and erotic depiction of homosexuality. From beginning to end, this story was told passionately and sensitively. The direction and casting couldn't have been better. Thanks so much for a remarkable theater experience. I ran back home and started reading "Giovanni's Room" all over again. ~steveT

Unwatchable. All I could stomach was about 30 minutes of this awful production. I love James Baldwin and I love good theater. This terrible, vulgar production offended all of those tender sensibilities.

I enjoyed the play. There were some really choice lines in the play. For anyone who is not familiar with James Baldwin they should look up a few of the characters mentioned in the play like Lorraine Hansberry and August Willson and other Black Play writers. I enjoyed every moment.

The concept of this play is original and fresh. The writing was very good, but seemed at times a little heavy handed. The voice of the character of Lorraine was amazing. Lyrical even. And the actress met and perhaps even exceed the role. But the James character, while delightfully witty, was a bit forced. The acting was fantastic, but the lines seemed a bit forced. Staging was nice. Overall quite a good show.
