Enjoyed the show and it was exciting to be there when the announcement came that Obama had won. However, I had been at his show at the JCC the previous Saturday and it was almost word for word the same jokes. I had hoped he would come up with new material for his final "Elect to Laugh" show.

Will Durst takes on politics and sanity in general. He's the funniest guy in town and a treat for all ages. My 20 year old son didn't get all the references, but he still laughed until his sides hurt. And my 75 year old mother laughed even harder.
Don't ever miss a chance to see Will in person.

Will Durst is great - similar to a George Carlin - with the most astute observations combined with a true command of the English Language. AND he was funny.

Will Durst still has it. The show was fabulous. He's doing this every Tuesday until the election. You can't miss these opportunities to see this San Francisco treasure.

Pretty funny guy. I have to admit that I was a bit taken back by Goldstar advertisement. For some reason I thought the actor would look like the picture being promoted...who I vaguely remember seeing in my lifetime. I had no idea that in reality this gentleman was probably at least 60-70 years old. Would have probably been better to have both 'then and now pictures'

mostly topical commentary on politics. very funny but extremely liberal. spent more than 30 minutes on skewering the RNC participants and maybe 3 minutes lauding the DNC politicians.

Will Durst is still bitingly funny, with impeccable timing and a sardonic wit. Political comedy doesn't get better than this and he's got a great rapport with the audience, even the dog!

Non stop laughter, for a mature audience or the historically knowledgeable. I don't know, I think my 'kid' would have found it funny, but he grew up in Berkeley. The jokes just tumble out, before I finished laughing at the last one.

I enjoyed Durst back in the day when he appeared on Saturday Night Live. I hadn't considered how much the pace of political humor has changed, though, when I booked these tickets. It's tough for a lone comedian to keep up with the likes of the Daily Show, Colbert Report and Real Time - all of which have gangs of writers. His material seemed a bit stale, and he knew it. Durst seemed to hit his groove in the last third of the show, and I left with a smile on my face. Doubtful I'd go to see him again, but with the Goldstar discount, I don't regret attending this event.

We went last night and he was hysterical! Fantastic show, every minute of the hour and a half was filled with laughter. He's astute, intelligent, spot on in his impersonations and observations of our political scene and he delivers with contagious energy that infects the whole crowd.

I highly recommend spending a Tuesday night at the Marsh with Mr. Durst, who is now a SF resident. Lucky us!

If you like political comedy and satire, you will enjoy this show immensely. Had a wonderful time and laughed through the entire show. Will Durst is one of my favorite comedians, I find him witty, intelligent and damn funny. The Marsh is a great space and the location is wonderful for a night out in the city. Ate a delicious dinner before hand and had a great night.

My wife and I attended. We were hoping Durst would make us laugh. And he succeeded. We were discouraged by the republican campaign attacking Obama, and Durst fired back beautifully, puncturing the ego of the Republican contenders, many of whose names I had forgotten. Durst remembered Cain, Perry, etc. and his monologue was delicious. By the time we walked out, we were smiling, even hopeful. Such a beautiful result from laughing, chuckling. Thanks, Durst.

Will Durst has a very inventive mind that is sure to make everyone laugh heartily at some point in the show! A grand ramble through the political and social landscape of this crazy country.

I really enjoyed Durst's performance. He's a great performer with an acute ear for the idiocies of our current political scene.

I'm from Way Back When, loving the insightful satire of wizards like Dick Gregory & Mort Sahl. Will's work sits comfortably among theirs, and to have the treat of seeing him in such an intimate venue, nonstop and solo, is a gift!

Witty, acerbic and politically astute. He is able to capture the essence of political issues in a delightful and wonderful presentation. We loved it.
He relates well with his audience and kept us on our toes throughout.

Will Durst was great. What a blast to see him from the front row.

Really intimate venue. No one is more than 15' from the stage.

If you have a good knowledge of politics and a passing awareness of history you will laugh yourself stupid at Will's shos. The woman on one side said her face hurt from laughing so much and my friend, who arrived there in a great deal of pain, said she was pain free after the show from enjoying herself and laughing so much. On the way out I overheard a woman say sheee laughed so hard she cried. I agree with them all, and them some. I'm going again and again until after the election so I can get lots of humor out of the election process, stay informed and stay up to date with what is really going on as seen through the eyes a an extremely funny political comic (as he defines himself). Go. See. Laugh. Learn.

A wonderful show. I love political humor. Will was on top of his game.
He started out a little slow but warmed up soon enough to have the audiance cracking up by show's end.

People who love good comedy and political jokes on both parties should really contribute to this mans talents. Those who like masturbation and bodily function humor should stay home and...

Will is a funny guy and spouts forth lots of observational jokes about current politics and politicians. Some lines are funny and humorous and some are not funnier than the muni busdriver. here's the deal with will: if the audience is not falling out of their seats laughing at his material, he will let you know that you are basically a deadbeat. not once but over and over. So make sure you are in audience where the laughter at his jokes is so raucous that he feels appreciated as a comic. Stand up before the show begins and tell everyone in the audience that they should laugh their heads off the entire time and then he'll probably tell you that you're an odd group for laughing so much at just stuff that everyone hears about and reads about anyway. I've seen Will over the last 30 years and it's the same game with him - " I need your laughter!!!" Heh heh

This is an intimate setting so you feel as if Will Durst is often addressing you personally. He spoke about the process of choosing the Republican presidential nominee and about past presidents. It was bright, full of analogies and hilarious. You leave feeling intellectually stimulated and hopeful that the medium of political comedy will gain a larger audience.

will durst is such a good comedian, he could make anything funny. My friend and I admitted that we had been paying little attention to politics ( it gets worse and worse.) and we were both afraid it would be over our heads. will makes it accessible, somehow, and politics is easy to laugh about or to crawl out the door and down the stairs over. durst just makes you laugh. we both liked it aLOT>

Will Durst is wry,to the point, intelligent and funny. He is also engaging with the audience in a warm and best buddy type way. I have seen him in the past yet his repertoire is always current and thought provoking. Kinda in a "its real sad and bad but lets laugh!". or lets do something about it to change .

There is no better place to see and hear Will Durst rant and rave about everything and everyone in politics than a small theater like the Marsh, where every wrinkle in his face and twinkle in his eye can be seen to capture his words, which kept me and my friend in spontaneous laughter and delight from beginning to end. Don't miss his show; go wherever he performs. Brilliantly funny!

Will Durst is a local treasure and this is a great opportunity to see him woodshed some new material in a cool theater environment. We're entering in to a national election year and this is when comics like Durst make their hay. The set was laugh out loud hilarious and this will be continuing every Tuesday evening at the Marsh. Highly recommended, a SF classic performing at an intimate theater. Great stuff.

The Marsh is in a terrific location. Great little restaurants to visit before or after the show, many within 2 blocks of The Marsh. Parking is difficult.

i watch "the rachel maddow show" daily and, occasionally, "real time with bill maher," so i've heard much of the political satire before.

You are in the hands of a real expert comic here, and you can't keep from laughing (really hard!) from the beginning to the end of the show. Will Durst says he'll keep changing up the material up until the election, so we look forward to seeing the show again later!

Durst was very funny bashing the republicans in San Francisco but how hard is that? why wasn't there one joke about Obama or ANY democrat?

Will Durst is delightful, an unabashedly liberal political comedian with a gift for making his hard work and decades of experience sound like a stream of consciousness monologue. Not all the material is fully developed or completely "works" but that seems a fair trade off because he is constantly developing new material in the show based on the latest political absurdities. I haven't laughed so hard in quite a while.

spontaneous political wit. Lightning paced and no one is writing his lines. He delivers his monologue in the moment as political events unravel and he reveals the craziness of both the politicians and the political pundits.

Very bright, talented man who is also very perceptive about the political scene. Amazing to be so funny in such an intimate atmosphere. Worth seeing again, especially as his commentary changes with political developments.

An intelligent, incredibly funny comic who still reads. And is willing to watch political debates, so we don't have to… what else do you need.

If you have not kept up with any form of political news this performance will be a sleeper for you. On the other hand, if you have kept up even some with anything related to politics in the news from the last decade you will find this rapid fire, well delivered event something you won't want to miss.

Somewhere between **** and ***** is more like it. I've seen Will several times before, and his schtik is as relevant as ever: comedy and commentary for political junkies +. This particular event is more intimate than others thanks to the setup of the Marsh Theater. Jokes are hit or miss, but there's truly something for everyone in his routine. Definitely recommended, especially if you follow politics religiously like some of us.

He went on nonstop for about 90 minutes and his years honing has craft showed. The show was well worth going to.
