Recognized as one of her generation's greatest pianists and the Russian Gold Medal winner of the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano competition in 2001, dynamic pianist and Russian composer Olga Kern regularly captivates fans and critics alike with her vivid stage presence, confident musicianship and extraordinary technique. Now Kern comes to Marines' Memorial Theatre for a solo recital of works by Mendelssohn, Schumann and Rachmaninoff. (Kern and Rachmaninoff go way back -- not only is her family actually related to the classical romanticist, but she was the winner of the first international piano competition named after him.) See the celebrated virtuoso perform Mendelssohn's Variations Serieuses, Schumann's Carnaval and Rachmaninoff's Preludes. Learn More

The Pocket Opera (and Donald Pippen) is always entertaining, and this did not disappoint. I thought that the second act was better than the first, and a very nice finish to the opera. Great seats. I really liked Blondie's and Pedrillo's voices.
