CMT Mainstage presents the school edition of the massively popular Tony-winning puppet musical, Avenue Q, for a young adult audience. Full of humor and hummable tunes, Avenue Q is a hilarious look at life in New York, featuring a fantastic cast of high school and college-age performers and puppets. In its Broadway debut, Avenue Q scored the "Triple Crown" of Tony wins, grabbing honors for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book. The lovable cast of characters, both flesh and felt, includes recent college grad Princeton who moves to Avenue Q full of hope for the future, Kate (the girl/monster next door), and the colorful collection of neighbors who help Princeton discover his purpose in life. While the puppet characters are colorful and lovable, this show is not for the little ones, even in its school edition.

In their 14th and final comic opera together, the legendary librettist-composer duo of Gilbert & Sullivan once again skewer the upper classes with this story of an acting ensemble whose plot to dethrone The Grand Duke is unexpectedly thrown into chaos. Satire, statutory duels -- drawing playing cards instead of pistols -- and a bevy of romantic entanglements ensue before all is sorted out. The all-local Lyric Theatre, known as the region's light-operetta experts, are set to stage this production with their usual panache. Learn More

The school version of this show is a lot less racy and therefore comfortable to watch with teenagers. The signing and dancing was great. Well done CMT! Would recommend this show to anyone. Go See It!
