Winner of the 1972 Tony Award for Best Original Score, Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar changed the face of musical theater forever with its debut on Broadway in 1971. Telling the story of the last seven days in the life of Jesus of Nazareth, this epic rock opera dramatizes Jesus' entry into Jerusalem, the unrest caused by his message and his popularity, his betrayal by Judas, the trial before Pontius Pilate and his ultimate brutal crucifixion. Chart-topping songs such as "Superstar," "Everything's Alright" and "I Don't Know How to Love Him" dramatically highlight the struggles experienced by the world's first and most enduring of all celebrities. By turns driving and majestic, satirical and tender, Jesus Christ Superstar illuminates the transcendent power of the human spirit. Learn More

star this review starred report as inappropriateThis is probably my favorite musical so I was a bit apprehensive about attending the CMT production. Not to worry. This was a fabulous production- I laughed, I applauded, I whooped. Could not have been better. Any seat in the Montgomery is good because it is such a small theater- I loved sitting in the balcony- great view of the stage.
Thanks CMTSJ for making my day!
