Get swept away with an exciting night of flamenco music and dance as The Flamenco Society of San Jose presents A Taste of Spain. A cast of some of the Bay Area's best flamenco artists will showcase this vibrant genre, which combines singing, guitar playing, dance and handclaps. Originating in Andalusia in southern Spain, this energetic and passionate style evolved out of the melting pot of the region's many cultures and is mostly credited to its Romani population. An improvisational form, flamenco brings together a singer, guitarist and dancer, who respond to and shape each other's performances. The result is an electrifying display of artistic expression. This was one of my favorite Cirque shows ever! Lots of "wow" moments - more so than in previous shows, but the clown acts in between were LONG and super boring! Without those and with better seats, this would have been a 5 star experience.
Our seats were behind one of those tall and big metal structures, resulting in serious restricted viewing.

Kooza tells the story of The Innocent, a melancholy loner in search of his place in the world.
Kooza is a return to the origins of Cirque du Soleil: It combines two circus traditions – acrobatic performance and the art of clowning. The show highlights the physical demands of human performance in all its splendor and fragility, presented in a colorful mélange that emphasizes bold slapstick humor.
The Innocent’s journey brings him into contact with a panoply of comic characters such as the King, the Trickster, the Pickpocket, and the Obnoxious Tourist and his Bad Dog.
Between strength and fragility, laughter and smiles, turmoil and harmony, Kooza explores themes of fear, identity, recognition and power. The show is set in an electrifying and exotic visual world full of surprises, thrills, chills, audacity and total involvement.
