Joy, sorrow, elation -- from the moment it was written, Mozart's music has inspired a host of emotions. Amadeus, the brilliant stage play by Sir Peter Shaffer, focuses on one response: jealousy. Travel back to the Austrian imperial court where the emperor's chosen composer, Antonio Salieri, reigns supreme until the arrival of a daring young talent, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Coarse, foul-mouthed and graceless, Mozart is everything that Salieri is not, including (of course) a genius. Awarded the Best Play Tony in 1981, Amadeus returns to the stage on the 30th anniversary of its Academy-Award-winning film adaption by Milos Forman. City Lights Theater Company presents this provocative and thrilling tale from the celebrated writer of Equus and Black Comedy. Learn More

Very good comedy. It can trigger your heart and evoke lots of thoughts. Be aware though, the ending is very sad and hope you have prepared a strong heart to see the ending.
Also, the show is running in a warehouse, so it's very cold inside. Be sure to wear coats or some other warm clothing.
Enjoy the show!
Quotes & Highlights
“Lacerating humor!” –Washington Post
Can love survive the cruel pressures of a low-cal, no-carb, salad bar world? Tom feels a magnetic attraction for the bright, witty, plus-sized Helen, but his coworkers are determined to save him from himself. Fat Pig is a brutally comic and painfully honest new play from one of America’s most unflinching and confrontational playwrights.
