The San Jose Chamber Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Barbara J. Turner, provides the exciting live soundtrack to sjDANCEco's 12th season opener, highlighted by José Limón's 1958 Mazurkas, an emotional tribute to the Polish spirit, set to a Chopin score. San Jose's own award-winning contemporary company specializes in the work of Limón, a ground-breaking Mexican-American modern dancer and choreographer. Also on the program are Broken Memory, a 1980 work by sjDANCEco founder Gary Masters and a trio of world premieres from company choreographers and dancers Maria Basile, Heather Cooper and Hsiang-Hsiu Lin. Come early for a pre-performance discussion by Masters. Learn More

Fantastic... I brought my 3 year old godson and he loved it. He absolutely had to have a pirate hat before leaving. He danced the rest of the day and called it ballet. He finished off the day by telling be it was for boys and girls and he wanted to go again.
These buccaneers deliver loads of action and heaps of fun for the entire family. Kick-start your holiday season with this all-new production. You will love it!
