There are lots of places to eat within walking distance. It is pretty busy in the evening, especially when there are other events/shows and sports events on the same night as an Improv show. Plan ahead for long waits to dine and packed parking lots. In other words, get there early.Rex Navarrete dining • Dec 17 2014 star this tip starred
The weather was clear, brisk winter night. . I wore a short sleeved shirt. My past experience with this venue is that it gets stuffy. Layering is best. I had a thicker winter coat that I placed over my lap and was quite comfortable the entire show. .Rex Navarrete dress • Dec 17 2014 star this tip starred
Steel Cage Comedy Night is a showcase featuring the best in stand up comedy followed by a special one on one talk show style interview with UFC Superstar Mike “Quick” Swick.
The comedy show will be headlined by Kris Tinkle (USO Comedy Tour Iraq/Kuwait" and Sirius and XM Radio.) The show also features Kevin Camia (Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham). The show is rounded out by 2008 San Jose Improv Competition Finalist Dan Wilson, Big Al Gonzalez (Fiesta de Comedy) and San Francisco favorite Jason Wheeler.
The show will conclude with a one on one live interview with Ultimate Fighting Championship’s Mike “Quick” Swick. Mike will talking about his career and his upcoming fight as the Co-Main Event at UFC’s special Fight Night: UFC Fights for the Troops!
“I’m excited to interview Mike because he’s one of those guys that’s just really endearing and personable. But you would never know it because he only gets to talk after he’s taken punches for 15 minutes after one of his fights,” says Tinkle.
Swick is looking forward to the interview and chance to hang with his fans. “I’m really excited. I love coming to the Improv and Kris is a funny guy and I’m sure he has some interesting questions. But I’m not scared though. I fight in a cage for a living. Bring it on Tinkle!” Tinkle responds, “The game plan with this interview is to see how many times I can make him blush without it turning into anger.”
