The frighteningly talented Rob Zombie, the singer-songwriter, musician and film director who's turned his obsession with the horror genre into movie and music gold, returns to his rock-show roots on his latest tour, complete with his signature pyrotechnics and mind-blowing SFX. A seven-time Grammy nominee, the rocker's fifth solo album, the intriguingly titled Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor, debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200, spinning off a pair of successful singles, "Dead City Radio and the New Gods of Super Town," and a cover of "We're an American Band." Meanwhile, Zombie's had phenomenal success as the writer/director of six highly-grossing horror films. But there's nothing like experiencing this artist's singular vision and sound live on stage. All good, even though Mike McDonald lost some of the Doobie high notes. Still, all good. Fagan was just full of juice, and Boz Scaggs is at 100%. I loved the lighting and the riffs by the solo guitarist. I did miss, however, the vocal triads so prevalent on the Steely Dan album. Seats on the side, you can get tired of keeping your neck turned.

All songs that any generation would enjoy listening
to and experiencing, ie: Melvin Bell...continued
