They had mostly snacks and beverages available at the concessions. Didn't notice anything substantial to eat (wasn't looking, though). It's so close to downtown, so there's a lot of great dining options nearby for before or after.

Description

San Francisco’s ShadowLight Productions has teamed up with Taiwan’s The Puppet and its Double Theater to create a stunning new shadow play based on the Chinese masterpiece—Journey to the West.

Behind a giant 30×15 foot projection screen, an ensemble cast of actors, dancers, puppeteers, and musicians will adapt an episode of this classic story using exciting modern techniques.

Monkey King at Spider Cave is an exciting audio/visual experience using giant projected shadows to create a new kind of theater that unites the power and scale of film with the immediacy of live performance. Interacting with hand-painted scenery, the performers create shadow images by moving in a precise choreography to create dream-like moving pictures. The musicians combine digital and traditional instruments to create a lively and evocative original soundtrack. This all-ages adventure story is performed in Mandarin and English, with bi-lingual subtitles.

VIP tickets include a shadow puppet kit.
