The Tony-nominated musical Side Show, inspired by the true story of conjoined twins Daisy and Violet Hilton, stars talented performers ages 14 to 20 from Children's Musical Theater (CMT) San Jose. The show follows the two sisters -- who're literally joined at the hip -- on their meteoric rise to fame during the 1930s and beyond, tracing their personal and professional lives from circus sideshow freaks to vaudeville headliners, as well as their lifelong search for independence and love. From Henry Krieger, the composer of Dreamgirls, with book and lyrics by Bill Russell, Side Show features the songs "I Will Never Leave You," "Who Will Love Me As I Am?" and "Come Look at the Freaks." Side Show is a cult-classic at CMT San Jose -- returning every seven years, it's now enjoying its third production there. Learn More

We were very disappointed in the first segment and didn't stay for the remaining half. The first few minutes of Mr. Agrawal's presentation showed great potential, but he soon began to be rather disengaged, forgetful, and repetitious. Maybe he was just having an off-night. (His relating of physically "hitting" his ex-wife did not impress us, either).
_This show is recommended for audiences age 15 or older.
