Winner of three Tony Awards, including Best Musical, this hilariously over-the-top extravaganza -- written by Monty Python alum Eric Idle -- borrows lovingly (and unapologetically) from the film classic Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Children's Musical Theater (CMT) San Jose's production of this nutty tale of King Arthur and his epic quest with the Knights of the Round Table features such outlandish oddities as flatulent Frenchmen, flying cows, killer rabbits and the Knights Who Say Ni. If you've been seeking a reminder to "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life," you need look no further than CMT's presentation of Monty Python's Spamalot. Learn More

Saw "The Grand Duke" last night, performed by the Lyric Theatre (Gilbert & Sullivan Society). This rarely-performed Gilbert & Sullivan opera is filled with great tunes, often hysterically funny dialogue, and a plot as twisted (in a good way) of any grand opera.
I laughed a lot, and Lyric Theatre presented some of the funniest performers you are likely to see on a stage in a while, who wholeheartedly threw themselves into the absurdity of the characters and made them their own.
I heartily recommend this show. Only one weekend left!
