It was once said of Bonnie and Clyde, the his-and-her gangster team, "They're young. They're in love. They kill people." And now, thanks to this rousing and breathlessly exciting new musical, you can add a fourth description: They sing. Composed by Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll & Hyde) with lyrics by Oscar-winner Don Black (Sunset Boulevard), Bonnie & Clyde weaves rockabilly, blues and gospel music into the story of how two small-time nobodies in West Texas became America's most notorious folk heroes. San Jose Stage Company presents the regional premiere of this Tony-nominated tale of love, adventure and crime. Learn More
After the show, check out Cafe Stritch. Its two blocks from the theater. A live band usually plays til midnight. They make good strong drinks, and there are usually tables available at that time. They also serve coffee for you non-alcoholic types.Bonnie & Clyde dining • Jun 24 2014 star this tip starred
Margaret Wingrove Dance Company, San Jose’s own professional contemporary dance company, enters its 23rd year of presenting innovative and original works. Come join the tumultuous and decadent society of the Roaring 20’s and the Jazz Age in choreographer Margaret Wingrove’s World premiere and full length production of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby with the exhilarating music of George Gershwin. Featured along with the Margaret Wingrove dancers are Zuri Goldman, Alexsandra Meijer, Katharine Grow, and Travis Walker guest artists from Ballet San Jose Silicon Valley.
About the Ticket Supplier: Margaret Wingrove Dance CompanyFounded in 1981, the critically-acclaimed Margaret Wingrove Dance Company remains San Jose's longest-standing modern dance company. Blending both modern and ballet techniques with high energy and physicality, the company's style is fluid enough to allow for bold experimentation in a wide range of repetoire of over 80 choreographic works.
The company is dedicated to the innovation and presentation of emotionally compelling and dynamically driven dance. It performs not only works of its founder and artistic director, Margaret Wingrove, but also showcases the works of emerging choreographers and noted guest artists. This mission to present young, promising dancers and choreographers has been very much a company mainstay since its founding.
