The San Mateo County Expo Center is a 48-acre event facility with seven indoor buildings. The Expo Center hosts hundreds of events each including trade/consumer shows, product launches, ride & drives, concerts, social gatherings, and corporate meetings.

In 1967, Herbert A. Duke, Sr., founded the first commercial gem and jewelry show to sell directly to the public. From these humble beginnings, the International Gem & Jewelry Shows were created. With nearly 100 shows yearly in more than 35 major U.S. cities, they now produce the largest exhibition of gems, minerals and jewelry in the world. More than half a million people pass through this world famous bazaar each year.
