It was enjoyable, but a little dated. The performances were excellent.

I'm a big fan of this musical and movie, having seen it when it first played off-Broadway back in the late '80s. I also saw the national traveling show that was performed at the Curran a few years ago. However, it was a thrill to see the staged musical in its original form. I enjoyed it more than the touring company show. Although I was a bit bothered that the trio of Crystal, Ronnette and Chiffon were white or latina instead of black, they were excellent performers, singers and dancers. It was a very strong, professional and enjoyable performance overall. And I couldn't believe what great seats we got for almost half-price... right in the center orchestra! Thanks, Goldstar.
