Showcasing Cole Porter's signature wit and masterful composition, Roundabout Theatre Company's Tony-winning production of Anything Goes features beloved songs such as "I Get a Kick Out of You" and "You're the Top." This timeless tale of boy-meets-girl and the resulting roller coaster ride centers on Billy Crocker, who falls hopelessly in love with a wealthy heiress. When he sees her boarding a boat to London, he throws caution to the wind and becomes a stowaway. Madcap hijinks ensue when his fellow passengers, including the evangelist-turned-nightclub-singer Reno Sweeney and second-rate gangster Moonface Martin, decide to help Billy win his true love. star this review starred report as inappropriateWhat a great theater! Our first time. Really high-energy community production with large cast and some strong leads. The toddlers were ridiculously cute as a flock of sheep... Good cookies, too, but priced to raise funds for future efforts.
star this review starred report as inappropriateIt was a great performance, very ambitious for a community theatre. It incorporated a group of 20 little kids (3 to 7 year olds), and another group of slightly older kids besides the teens and adults. Everybody performed with great enthusiasm. I went back a second time to take my granddaughters. Keep an eye out for that company if you enjoy watching kids doing a great job. G.H.
star this review starred report as inappropriateI had no idea this was a local community theatre - with children doing parts. I was glad I brought my 12 & 13 year old daughters, because it was very cute.
As community theatre goes, I enjoyed it very much.
