5 stars for the script, 1 star for the directing, and 3 stars because I appreciated the young enthusiasm of the actors. The lead male and female actors were good.

Much shouting. Lagging pace. Lost much of the poetry and power of Charles Mee....continued

Fifty brides flee their grooms and seek refuge in an Italian Villa in this re-make of the Suppliant by Aeschylus. This highly interpretive dark comedy challenges us to look at our attitudes regarding the social issues of gender, political power and economic inequality that resonate with us all. It is also highly entertaining theatre with murder and assorted mayhem including helicopters, rapelling and an Italian villa complete with an on-stage pool!. This is SACTA’s most ambitious project to date.
