The musical Camelot, which debuted on Broadway during the Kennedy administration, was said to be a favorite of the former president, who would listen to the cast recording at bedtime. It's only fitting, then, that Mysterium has chosen to set its production of this classic musical in the Kennedy White House. The show features all of the familiar romantic characters -- King Arthur, Queen Guenevere, Merlin the Magician, Sir Lancelot and the evil Mordred -- and boasts beloved Lerner and Loewe songs, like, "If Ever I Would Leave You," "Camelot" and "The Lusty Month of May." Under the tutelage of Merlin, King Arthur has established the perfect kingdom of Camelot, where he lives with his lovely wife, Guenevere, and a Round Table full of the best knights in the world. However, things aren't as ideal as they would seem. King Arthur's best friend, Lancelot, is having an affair with the queen, and King Arthur's illegitimate son, Mordred, is plotting to overthrow the kingdom.

Tackling illegal immigration and America's skewed perceptions of body image, Real Women Have Curves remains just as polarizing today as it was when it premiered 23 years ago. The story follows Ana, a young Mexican-American teen who's torn between following the path her seamstress mother has set for her and pursuing her dream to become a journalist. All the while, she's navigating issues of self-image and dealing with the plight of the undocumented friends and family members that populate her life. Learn More

The three leads were clearly very talented actors giving their all. King Arthur, Lancelot, and Guenevere all had wonderful voices and acting chops. Unfortunately, the same can not be said about the supporting cast, direction or crew.

This production was lacking in both direction and choreography. "The Lusty Month of May" was a disaster on all levels, as was the Ensembles rendition of "Guenevere". A complete miss on the part of the director for both numbers, and the person who chose to put these ladies in lingerie for "...May" did not do them any favors. The costuming detracted from the overall experience rather than adding to it. If you are move Camelot into the Kennedy era, then take it out of a castle and put it in the white house.

Finally, it greatly detracts from the theatre going experience when there are multiple black outs in the middle of a large number. Having someone operating the light and sound who know the show is as important as having actors who know their lines.

Truly disappointing that the three talented leads were not given a better backdrop to display their talents.

A good show full of memorable show tunes. Loved vocal performances by Guenevere and King Arthur. It was very emotional at times, especially with Guenevere really living her part. Very nice theater staff.

Loved this show! Particularly enjoyed Guenevere, even cried in the end as she did. King Arthur was also talented. Great singing and acting.

The show was good. We were surprised to see everyone in everyday clothing as opposed to costumes, but it was entertaining.
