by Lanford Wilson and Kenneth Fuchs

Jewel Theatre Company presents two rarely seen musicals. The pairing of dialogue from Pulitzer Prize winning author Lanford Wilson (Talley's Folly) with music by award winning 2007 Cabrillo Music Festival composer Kenneth Fuchs sets the stage for a rarely experienced melodic theatre event about two touching and humorous stories of friendship.

The Great Nebula depicts Louise and Carrie, two old college friends who have taken opposite paths in life but have a chance meeting that reveals dashed dreams and unrequited love. In Betrothal, two horticulturists, the dogmatic Ms. J.H. Joslyn and the fragile Mr. Kermit Wasserman have a pugnacious yet enchanting encounter after showing their prize irises.
