LGBT Seniors Explore Aging Body in QueerWise's BODYTEXT
What does the body say to us as we age? This is the question QueerWise, a collective of LGBT seniors, tackles in BODYTEXT, which uses spoken word to touch on a wide range of issues, including sensuality and sexuality. QueerWise has been performing throughout Los Angeles for the past two years. Directed by theater veteran Michael Kearns, this new work finds the group of 13 exploring the aging body, and pulling from scripts they've written in their weekly class. What's revealed on stage can be moving, informative and sometimes startling.
