Description
Ian MacKinnon’s Discount Cruise to Hell is a genderfuck performance collective and band that combines live music, comedy, camp, and theatre, and has been sailing together since 2002. The audience has died and booked passage on a ship with a cast of undead cruise ship performers who entertain them all the way to Hades with a special blend of happy-horror-show-choir-acid-musical-theatre-rock de macabre. The Cruise has sailed at venues all over town including: Highways, The Hammer Museum, The Cavern Club, The Celebration Theatre, El Cid, Mr. T’s Bowl, The Stone, The Palms, Dragonfly, Upright Citizen’s Brigade, The Improv Olympic, The Silverlake Lounge, The Steve Allen Theatre, and at The Fowler Museum’s Carnival where the Group was awarded “Most Outrageous” and Ian was crowned “King of Carnival.”

Highways Performance Space is Southern California's boldest center for new performance. Founded in 1989, Highways continues to be an important alternative cultural center in Los Angeles that encourages fierce new artists from diverse communities to develop and present innovative works.
Highways promotes the development of contemporary socially involved artists and art forms. Our mission is implemented through four programs (the performance space, workshop/university program and two galleries).
