The Art Directors Guild Film Society presents a screening of Frida, the 2002 biographical film about Mexican surrealist artist Frida Kahlo and her tempestuous marriage to muralist Diego Rivera. The film, directed by Broadway director Julie Taymor, features Salma Hayek in her Oscar-nominated performance, Alfred Molina, Geoffrey Rush and Diego Luna. The film earned two Oscars (for original score and makeup) and nominations for production design and costume design. A panel discussion will follow the film featuring the film's costume designer Julie Weiss moderated by production designer John Muto.

The event included viewing of the film and then followed by an interview and audience Q&A of Costume Director Julie Weiss. I've already seen the show quite a few times, but on the large screen it was much more enjoyable and I continued to 'see' additional detail with each viewing.

Interview/Q&A was exceptional. Highly recommended to catch one of these events if you can. There is only one more left to see in October, which will be shown in the Egyptian Theater on the 23rd.
