One of the most amazing sights in nature is that of majestic whales swimming and playing on the ocean's surface, leaping out of the water and slapping their mighty tales. On this 2.5 hour cruise off the shores of Newport Beach, you may see giant blue whales during the summer and fall months or the annual grey whale migration bringing tens of thousands of grey whales along the coast during the winter and spring months. Huge pods of several species of dolphin are very common as are the resident sea lions. You may also catch glimpses of seals, killer whales, sharks and many other marine creatures. With a 96% success rate, almost every cruise has many viewing opportunities. An added plus is picturesque coastal backdrops of Newport Beach, Laguna Beach and Huntington Beach. Learn More

This thing was poorly planned. Super long lines for some of the pitmasters. The cost adds up quickly. $10 a serving was pretty pricey considering we had to pay an entrance fee. For example, a couple ribs & a mini-cup (a few ounces) of beans = $10. At the County Fairs, vendors would charge similar prices, but would give you complete meals (meat, a couple sides, cornbread). Not so here.
There was only one booth for the drinks. This booth probably had the longest line there. The people looked like they were waiting in line for a ride at disneyland. I we had to settle for buying bottled water from one of the pitmasters rather than waiting in line for some beer.
People were sitting on the asphalt eating. Definately not enough tables. It was challenging trying to cut up some ribs or sausage links while standing.
Hopefully the organizers learn from this first go around and improve next year.

Set against the beautiful backdrop of the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Monica Pier, the festival will also feature a beer garden and live entertainment.
