Two iconic American rock groups will share the stage at the Fabulous Forum this summer as Cheap Trick joins Boston for their "Heaven on Earth" tour. Known for their killer pop hooks, Boston sold millions during the '70s and '80s with their catchy version of prog rock. Their self-titled debut was one of the fastest-selling pop debuts in history, spawning three hit singles that became American classics: "More Than a Feeling," "Long Time" and "Peace of Mind." At the same time, Cheap Trick was perfecting the delicate balance between power pop and hard rock that made them a major influence on future punk, metal and alternative bands. Songs like "I Want You to Want Me," "Surrender" and "Dream Police," along with their dynamic live performances, sealed their reputation as arena rock gods. Now, 40 years into their careers, the two bands are still going strong. The "Heaven on Earth" tour is traveling the country in support of Boston's sixth studio album release, Life, Love & Hope, and this is one of a select few appearances where Cheap Trick will be performing with them. Loved everything about this event.
Loved the location, loved the band, and loved the seats!
The Broad Stage Theater is a lovely small intimate venue that I would love to see just about anything in, it’s a little bit of a drive if you’re not from Santa Monica but worth the drive. The sound was great and I don’t think there’s a bad seat in the house. The Goldstar seats we got were box seats, and I loved it because I had never had to sit in a box seat and always wondered what it was like. It was awesome! I felt like Royalty, I would of even waved at you if you looked up at me.
Didn’t know too much about the band, I had just seen a quick piece on then the week prior on Vista LA, and thought, “Well they seem like a fun band.” So when I saw they had a show and Goldstar had tickets for it, I jumped at the chance. And they were Great! The have a sound that’s all over the place and all kinds of different songs that don’t fit just into any one category. There was even a chance to meet the band after the show and get your CD signed, which we did, and they were super nice, even took pictures with us.
If Goldstar has tickets to La Santa Cecilia’s next show I will defiantly purchase them.
They even had a Dance floor for people to get up close and enjoy the show.
