Woody Allen's hilarious and touching Play It Again Sam ran for 453 performances on Broadway and was nominated for three Tony Awards. It's the story of Allan Felix, a film critic and recently-deserted husband who lives in a lonely apartment and talks to his imaginary idol, Humphrey Bogart. When his friends Dick and Linda try to set him up with women, his attempts to be suave and sexy lead to a series of comic disasters -- until Allan starts to fall for Linda, his best friend's wife. The comedy classic was made into a 1972 film starring Woody Allen and Diane Keaton.

Very funny Woody Allen play comes to life in Santa Monica. For a local production, they did a great job. Sometimes hard not to compare the lead to Woody's performance (in the film), but he hit just the right tone here. Recommend!Written on Jan 23 2012
