Named after Russian composer Alexander Scriabin, Spectral Scriabin is inspired by the composer's groundbreaking work in 1915, when he staged what was most likely the first multimedia concert in history. Scriabin designed a light projection keyboard (clavier à lumière) to project colors onto the stage as it was played, relating colors to musical pitch -- and stirring up a sensation among audiences. Now, celebrated Georgian pianist Eteri Andjaparidze and MacArthur "Genius" lighting designer Jennifer Tipton explore the legacy of this late Romantic composer through excerpts from his Poeme Languide in B Major and other works, including Feuillet d'Album in F-sharp Major, Opus Posthumous. This truly unforgettable musical lightshow premiered in 2010 at the Baryshnikov Arts Center in New York City.

There was NO "Lush Musical Lightshow" that was a total misrepresentation on the part of goldstar. The music was intense and fabulous. It is rare to hear such great acoustics in such a small venue. It was simply one of the best things life has to offer.Written on Mar 19 2012
