A bevy of L.A.'s hottest acting, writing and directing talent will gather for a one-night-only live performance of plays written and staged in a mere 24 hours, all to benefit the Urban Arts Partnership. Six writers, six directors, twenty-four actors, a musical guest and production team will meet and brainstorm ideas before the scribes head off on an all-nighter to pen the plays. Then, with only a scant 12 hours to rehearse, the show must go on, in front a lucky live audience. Among the stars scheduled to participate are Rosie Perez, Simon Helberg, Wilmer Valderrama, Ashley Greene, Joshua Jackson, Jason Ritter, Emmy-winning writer Rachel Axler (The Daily Show, New Girl) and many more from popular movies like The Hunger Games, Twilight and The X-Men. Montblanc presents the 2nd annual performance of The 24 Hour Plays: Los Angeles to benefit Urban Arts Partnership on Saturday, June 16 at The Broad Stage, Santa Monica.  

This year's participants include, schedule permitting: Sasha Alexander (Rizzoli & Isles, NCIS), Jason Biggs (American Pie series, Mad Love), Josh Dallas (Once Upon a Time, Thor), Brooklyn Decker (What to Expect When You're Expecting, Battleship), Edi Gathegi (X-Men: First Class, Twilight), Ashley Greene (LOL, Twilight series), Lena Heady (Game of Thrones, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), Simon Helberg (The Big Bang Theory, Dr. Horrible's Singalong Blog), Joshua Jackson (Fringe, Dawson's Creek), Gillian Jacobs (Community, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World), Alexander Ludwig (The Hunger Games, Race to Witch Mountain), Gabriel Mann (Revenge, Mad Men), Lamorne Morris (New Girl, The Guild), Diane Neal (Law and Order: SVU, NCIS), Rosie Perez (Gods Behaving Badly, Pineapple Express), Jason Ritter (Parenthood, The Event), Ramon Rodriguez (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Battle Los Angeles), Tracie Thoms (Cold Case, Rent), and Wilmer Valderrama (Awake, That '70s Show). Writers are set to include: Wendy West (Law and Order: SVU, Dexter), Rachel Axler (Emmy Award Winner for The Daily Show, New Girl, Parks and Recreation), Darlene Hunt (The Big C, Parks and Recreation), Tim Dowling (This Means War, Just Go With It). Directors will include Leigh Kilton Smith (acting consultant to the stars), Andy Fickman (Jewtopia, You Again) and Victor Nelli (GCB, Once Upon a Time).

The proceeds from the event will benefit Urban Arts Partnership, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the intellectual, social and artistic development of underserved public school students through arts integrated education programs to close the achievement gap, and the implementation of transformative programs in “high need” LAUSD partner schools, ArTES High School, Teresa Hughes Elementary, East LA Performing Arts Academy High School, Bancroft Middle School and Southeast Middle School.
