Having been able to see this wonderful play makes me wonder how much have we actually progressed towards equality in our society since Matthew Shepard's death more than 12 years ago.Written on Mar 07 2011
Thsi small theater let's the audience get immersed in the play and all of the actors did a wonderful job playing more than one character with enough ease and character differences to make you relate to each of them without feeling that they were being overly dramatic.

Description
Directed by: Natalia Lazarus
The Laramie Project, Moisés Kaufman’s internationally acclaimed play, began one month after a horrific crime occurred in the city of Laramie, Wyoming. Members of Kaufman’s theatrical group, Tectonic Theater Project, volunteered to travel with their director from New York City to the wide-open ranges of the West in order to gather in-person interviews from Laramie’s populace. The idea was to capture the emotions, reflections, and reactions of the people who were most closely related to the crime — the brutal beating and subsequent death of a young, gay college student. Was this a hate crime? Or was it a random, senseless assault and robbery? No matter which, Kaufman’s objective was to explore the issues of homosexuality, religion, class, economics, education, and nontraditional lifestyles through the residents’ raw responses to the incident.
Time magazine called The Laramie Project “A pioneering work and a powerful stage event.”
