Salastina Music Society performs one of the best known and loved collections of string music in history, Vivaldi's The Four Seasons. Salastina's co-artistic directors and violinists Kevin Kumar and Maia Jasper are featured soloists, and KUSC 91.5's Brian Lauritzen returns to illuminate how the Italian composer evokes the mood and temperament of each of the four seasons in this iconic masterpiece. Vivaldi is believed to have written more than 500 concertos, as well as more than 40 operas, but these four, composed in 1723, are his most famous, universally revered for their evocative melodies. About the Ticket Supplier: Musica Angelica
Musica Angelica Baroque Orchestra is a professional early music ensemble. We perform music of the Renaissance and Baroque eras on authentic period instruments in two self-produced series – our orchestral series focuses on the music of the high Baroque including works of Bach, Vivaldi and Handel; our chamber series features a mix of well known composers and delightful less familiar works. We also collaborate in concerts with other local cultural institutions including the Getty Museum, Norton Simon Museum, Los Angeles Master Chorale and Pacific Chorale, and Long Beach Opera. The Music Director is Martin Haselboeck, renowned organist and Baroque conductor from Vienna, Austria.
