Marianne Faithfull Rocks the House at Montalvo Arts Center

Full Price:
$45.00 - $65.00
Our Price:
$25.00 - $39.00

English rock icon Marianne Faithfull's career started in the 1960s and through many highs and lows has seen her emerge as one of the most original female singer-songwriters of the modern age. Stoicly unsentimental yet also endearingly affectionate, Faithfull can transform any lyric into something compelling and utterly personal. She holds the distinction of having recorded the first song written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, "As Tears Go By" in 1964. Fast forward to her 20th album, nearly 50 years later, Horses and High Heels, which was released in 2011. Her voice is now deep and melodic, reflecting years of hard living, and she continues to leave her mark on the music world. Al Green still puts on a killer show after 40 years in the business. My wife and I attended wondering how Al would handle the high notes that have always been a large part of his music. He far exceeded our expectations by continuing to hit the highs and handled the lows in a way satisfying growl. Amazing performance.

I really enjoyed seeing the Reverend. I just wish he would of sang whole versions of his songs. But otherwise he was great. I loved seeing him!
