Let the joyous sounds of Jimmy Cliff's reggae/pop/soul fusion wash over you on the tree-shaded slopes of the Lillian Fontaine Garden Theatre. It's the ultimate summer concert experience: enjoying the outdoors and the great weather to the beat of funky, relaxed reggae music. Still going strong after 50 years of performing, the indomitable Jimmy Cliff puts on a show like no other. From the success of his early single "Hurricane Hattie" to the exuberant, socially-conscious songs of his latest album, Rebirth, Cliff has remained a potent musical force that can keep an audience moving with his enthusiasm and energy -- for music, for the wellbeing of the planet and for life. I had not been to the Mountain Winery since it was remodeled. What a beautiful venue. The Goldstar seats were very good. Dinner was delicious, as were the wines. The service was excellent. I had not finished my second glass of wine, so the waitress brought me a plastic cup so that I could take it with me to my seat. She also offered to do the same with some coffee, as it was a cold night.
Kenny Loggins was great. Everyone had a good time. It was a very enjoyable experience. Can't wait till Saturday, when we go see Smokey Robinson.
For four decades, singer-songwriter Kenny Loggins has been inviting listeners in to experience music that reaches the heart and the senses with disarming candor, authentic emotion and rich lyrical and melodic resonance.
From Loggins & Messina classics like “Danny’s Song” to signature solo tracks including “Celebrate Me Home” and the Grammy-winning “This Is It,” Kenny Loggins’ expansive body of work speaks volumes with its warmth and directness.
Throughout the ’80s and ’90s, Kenny Loggins also reigned as one of the most successful movie theme song composers of his era, with massive hits including “I’m Alright” (Caddyshack_), “Danger Zone” (Top Gun_), “Nobody’s Fool” (Caddyshack II_) and the Oscar-nominated “Footloose” (_Footloose) and “For The First Time” (One Fine Day).
