For this unique concert, the San Jose Wind Symphony's own musician-members have chosen the works to be played. Among the favorites picked by the players are Bach's Fugue à la Gigue and Liszt's Les Preludes. The lively program, entitled The Musician's World, will also find the SJWS sharing the stage with a guest ensemble -- the inspired, virtuosic Quadre Horn Quartet performing Schumann's Konzertstück. These funny and highly entertaining French horn masters have won awards and played concerts across the country. Learn More

It was an excellent performance of a long & complex piece by the Nova Vista Symphony. This orchestra is well worth your attention. I was very glad I went to hear the pre-concert talk by Anthony Quartuccio, as it greatly enhanced my enjoyment.
If you want to read the program notes, sit in the front half of the McAfee Theater.
The opening "act" by the Youth Symphony showcased the wonderful talent of these young musicians.
There will be a preconcert talk 30 minutes before the performance
About the Ticket Supplier: Nova Vista Symphony
The Nova Vista Symphony, established in 1966, is composed of more than 60 volunteer musicians of wide age range and ethnic background. The orchestra's fourfold mission is: to make live classical music attractive and accessible to individuals and families at a reasonable price; to expose youngsters to classical music and educate tomorrow's audiences; to provide an opportunity for musicians talented but choosing careers other than music to perform with a top quality orchestra; and to provide a showcase for local soloists and composers.
