In celebration of the subsonic delights of a very large brass instrument, San Jose Wind Symphony is pleased to present their special February concert, Tiptoe Through the Tubas. The SJWS will be joined on stage by the extremely talented tuba virtuoso Marty Erickson, former principal tubist with the United States Navy Band in Washington, D.C., who will perform Rolf Wilhelm's Concertino for Tuba and Gioachino Rossini's Largo al Factotum among other works. In addition to Erickson's solo pieces, he will also be joined by the Wind Symphony's own outstanding tuba section for Jerry Brubaker's delightful Tiptoe Through the Tubas.

Great way to spend a sunday afternoon. Marty Erickson was very entertaining, funny, and a very good tuba player. Exceeded our expectations! The San Jose Wind Symphony was great, too!

My son plays Trombone, so this big brass was something he really wanted to see and so did I, gave me goose bumps. The music performed by the SJWS is superb. I wish everyone could see this wonderful group of performers at least once.

First time to attend a SJ Wind Symphony concert- musicians were really good (even though some have/had other careers). Music was interesting and diverse; McAfee Center was a great venue. Mr. Erickson was a thoroughly pleasant, as well as top-notch tuba player- I enjoyed this concert!
