Start the holidays on a jolly note when the San Jose Wind Symphony presents The World of Celebration at the McAfee Center. The West Coast's premier wind symphony will get everyone in the merrymaking mood with a range of seasonal classics played with festive flair. Expect favorites like Anderson's "Sleigh Ride," Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker Suite" and Mel Torme's The Christmas Song. The Lyric Theatre Carolers will also join the Symphony on stage, adding their voices to the sumptuous arrangements and audience sing-a-longs. Author and accomplished storyteller Walter M. San Jose Wind Symphony (SJWS) was founded in 1958 at San Jose City College by conductor emeritus Darrell Johnston. The group has become one of the finest community bands in the country, drawing players from a diverse assortment of backgrounds and professions.
