Winner of the 1972 Tony Award for Best Original Score, Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar changed the face of musical theater when it debuted on Broadway in 1971. A rock 'n' roll retelling of the last seven days in the life of Jesus of Nazareth, Superstar dramatizes his entry into Jerusalem, the unrest caused by his message and his popularity, his betrayal by Judas Iscariot, his trial before Pontius Pilate and his ultimate crucifixion. The rock opera's chart-topping songs such as "Superstar," "Everything's Alright" and "I Don't Know How to Love Him" dramatically highlight the struggles of those final days. Presented in the intimate Actor's Café theater, this high-energy, high-volume production features a small cast comprised of Desert Stages' most talented performers plus a live band. Learn More
