I was pleasantly surprised that this is a "clean" comedy venue. The manager and main comic both said they are Christian, which I personally appreciated. We ate in the restaurant first, which was only so-so. Since there is a 2-item minimum in the club, we should have just ordered appetizers and drinks there. The show was good, though the crowd was small, so every person sort of stood out. One woman was being completely obnoxious, trying to "banter" with the comics. But that wasn't their fault! I think this venue will get better with more experience and time. Well worth going.
July 5-6, 2013: Independence Day Comedy With Charlie Speez
July 12-13, 2013: Edwin San Juan*
Edwin San Juan, one of the “original” Los Angeles-based comedians, is well received from multicultural audiences of all ages, both internationally and at home. He has entertained U.S. troops with the Around the World in Eight Days USO campaign and has appeared on multiple Showtime Comedy specials, such as Edwin San Juan Presents, Pacific Rim Comedy, on which, as creator and executive producer, he showcases some of the funniest Asian comedians around today. He also had over a million hits on YouYube, making it one of the most requested clips amongst comedy fans around the world!
- *July 19-20, 2013: Chris Cope
- Like a cherub-faced demon, Chris cope commands audiences by blending FDR’s likability and Churchill’s penchant for substance abuse with their German counterpart’s aspirations for global domination. His approachable demeanor, sharp wit, and talent for storytelling disarms and delights, only to leave audiences wide open to fall prey to his biting sarcasm. Experience working crowds of a wide variety enables him to adapt mid-set; he often improvises and goes off script to mold his act to the desires of his audience. Chris’ ability to endear himself to any audience makes him a comedy club favorite nationwide.
Featuring comedians Jessie Johnson, Brian Mullan and Dale Sackrider II.
July 26-27, 2013: Jerry Rocha
- Jerry Rocha is one of the hottest comics on the scene, constantly on tour and leaving a trail of busted guts and broken hearts in his wake. Well, not really, but he has been a featured performer on SiTV, The Latino Laugh Festival, was the subject of a half-hour documentary on the Travel Channel, and was a semi-finalist on Season 7 of_ Last Comic Standing_ on NBC. He has worked at comedy clubs all over the country, and is now living in L.A. His routine is all over the map, and he is able to make light of any subject, making people laugh at things they normally wouldn’t, and also making them laugh at the easiest target … himself.
