Most composers hope to perfect a form or refine a tradition, but a select few are brave enough to break all the rules and create something new. Of this latter category, there are no better examples than Berlioz, Debussy and Bartók. Taken together, their compositions introduced new sounds, colors and feelings to classical music, radicalizing it in ways that could never be undone. Now, maestro Christophe Chagnard conducts the Lake Union Civic Orchestra in Berlioz's "Intrada" from Rob Roy, Debussy's Premiere Rhapsodie and Bartók's Concerto for Orchestra. Once again, LUCO's principal clarinetist, Steven Noffsinger, will perform as a featured soloist. Delight in the music and fearless innovation of these Rebels With a Cause at Town Hall Seattle.
