Great show! I wouldn't say this was a 'broadway level' show, but then again I wasn't expecting it to be. But I would say that it was just below that. Certainly much better than a community playhouse production. The cast was excellent, the orchestra was excellent, and I really like the smaller venue as well. There really isn't a bad seat in the house. (as far as I can tell.) For the price I paid with goldstar, I would certainly recommend this to anyone wanting to see Chicago! My wife and I had a wonderful time.

Quotes & Highlights

  • The original production of Chicago was nominated for 10 Tony Awards in 1975.

Description

Setting: The Cook County Jail. Time: The Roaring Twenties. Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly vie for the full attention of the press – and celebrity attorney Billy Flynn – as they prepare for two sensational murder trials. Chicago is a rousing story of fame, corruption, fortune, manipulation and heartbreak … and all that jazz.

Razzle-dazzle choreography by Crystal Dawn Munkers, who was trained by long time Fosse collaborator Ben Vereen, and the show-stopping music of Kander and Ebb make Chicago a classic crowd-pleaser and one of Broadway’s all-time favorites. Seattle Musical Theatre delivers every delightful moment in this lively production, the second of its current season.
