Ottmar Liebert, renowned nouveau flamenco guitarist, and his band Luna Negra perform live at the Triple Door in Seattle. The five-time Grammy nominee has released 25 albums, earning 38 gold and platinum certifications in the USA, plus more awards around the world. His debut, 1990's double-platinum Nouveau Flamenco, is one of the best-selling guitar albums ever -- pretty impressive for a man who, up to that point, had worked a series of odd jobs, including dishwasher, bike messenger, truck driver and bank teller. Don't miss his yearly stop at the Triple Door. Learn More

A hip hop artist opened the show. I thought it an unfair surprise to have such a jarringly different genre of music from the the band I came to hear. I don't care for hip hop, and I had to endure an hour of it before Debo Band took the stage. By the time Debo Band took the stage I felt weary. I found the sound levels were all off. Too loud, mostly, in a way that detracted from what could have been very interesting music. On another night, with no opening act and better sound, I could see myself enjoying them. It just didn't happen for me this time.
