Trader Joe's Silent Movie Mondays at the Paramount presents a three-week series of screenings of silent films from France, Ireland and India. These international films portray historical stories with universal themes that resonate around the world. From France, you'll see The Passion of Joan of Arc, based on the saint's trial, imprisonment, torture and execution. From Ireland, there's The Colleen Bawn, in which a young Irish lad falls in love with a poor girl and plans to marry her -- unless his mother gets her way. That film is preceded by a short titled The Lad From Old Ireland. And from India comes A Throw of the Dice, based on an episode from the Indian epic The Mahabharata. Learn More

view more less of this reviewThe cast was amazing, very high energy and engaging, and the singing was beautiful. An ongoing effort to create a "love your brother" 60s type atmosphere, with cast members going into the audience flashing peace signs and shaking hands, was fun and successful. However, the onstage band tended to overwhelm the singers and most of the lyrics were impossible to understand, which really diminished our ability to relax and enjoy the experience.
star this review starred report as inappropriateA little goofy and dated but the cast was wonderful and the songs and singers are great. Incredible energy and committment to the material. Heavy ending which makes the musical powerfull.
star this review starred report as inappropriateI thoroughly enjoyed this excellent stage production of "Hair". The cast was very energetic, and their adventures into the audience made the show even more exciting.
star this review starred report as inappropriateHair is just as infectious and exuberant as I remembered it. I saw it when it first came out and then saw the movie later, but haven't seen a live production since. I'm glad they didn't dink around and ruin it with updating. The second act, and especially the finale, are the best parts. Great voices.
