Contemporary slang meets 17th-century farce in The School for Lies. Adapted from Molière's The Misanthrope, playwright David Ives (Venus in Fur, All in the Timing) transforms Molière's classic into a modern satire told entirely through verse. The result is a delightfully incongruous comedy of manners that lets you peer inside the Parisian salon of Celimene, a young widow with a sharp tongue and plenty of suitors. Teresa Thuman and Ken Michels co-direct this Center Theatre production, in which a saucy siren finally meets her misanthropic match. Learn More

Hard to explain. 95 percent good. But sexual humor included simulated sex, under sheets, with lawyers representing unsatified! Yes, that is funny but It made me uncomfortable. I was in a date situation. Also there were children attending. . However, Very well acted, great singing voices and entertaining.

Relationships — in all of their humor, depth, agony and moments when you can’t laugh for fear that you’ll cry — are what make a life. I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change takes on the comedy and tragedy of relationships with a simplicity and truthfulness that will leave you rolling in the aisles with laughter and quietly wiping tears from your eyes. This production, filled with the style and music of the 1980s, will inspire you as we explore the meaning of love and relationships.
