Follow young orphan Oliver from a dreary workhouse to the streets of Victorian London, where he unwittingly falls in with a gang of pickpockets, in Oliver! Based on Charles Dickens' beloved novel Oliver Twist, this boisterous musical features memorable songs like "Food, Glorious Food," "Consider Yourself," "Where Is Love?" and "As Long as He Needs Me," and timeless themes, including the search for love, the triumph of right over wrong and the hope for a better world. Oliver! premiered in London's West End in 1960, scored three Tony Awards for its Broadway debut in 1963 and was made into a six-time Oscar-winning musical film in 1968. This musical theater classic might leave you saying, "Please, sir, I want some more." Learn More

In my dozens of reviews over many years 5 stars show up rarely. For non-equity performances almost never.. And when I sat with a pole obstructing and an annoying neighbor in a too close seat and realized 12th was going to be stripped of some Shakespeare with song lyrics and added innovations, I was not optimistic. But I was very wrong. This is the most clever of interpretations. The songs are good as music but better for their lyrics which an outstanding cast all carefully enunciate in a rare musical demonstration that the words really matter. And they do. This wit is worthy of the best of Broadway. Malvolio is brilliant in his arch and silly characterization. Feste rules as narrator and magician and master of ceremonies as well as clown. There are no exceptions. In 12th night I often find the count and Olivia prove secondary and unimpressive but not in this rendition. It is wit and momentum good music and real SS as well end to end. Unfortunately it appears Goldstar is not offering any more showings but that should not deter you....it is worth the full price which is not much more on weekdays. Go.
