Based on the 1908 novel by E.M. Forster, this adaptation combines gorgeous new music with a classic story, and adheres closer to the original novel than the 1985 movie, which starred Helena Bonham Carter as the sheltered English girl Lucy Honeychurch, who's introduced to passion and love while vacationing in Tuscany. While the unforgettable Edwardian characters remain, this enchanting production takes the story to lofty heights through a terrific score and memorable new songs. When Honeychurch meets the free-spirited George Emerson, she must decide whether to remain in the life that has been chosen for her, or break free and give up everything she knows in the name of love. In the Heights is a vibrant song and dance spectacular that has won Broadway’s highest honors by first winning its heart. In the Heights tells a universal story set in Manhattan's Washington Heights – a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open, and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It's a community on the brink of change, full of hopes, dreams and pressures, where the biggest struggles can be deciding which traditions you take with you, and which ones you leave behind.
