Performing with Bob Dylan in the Village in the '60s, opening for the Grateful Dead in the '70s, snagging Grammy nominations in '00s, Maria Muldaur could give Forrest Gump a run for his money. The reason for this jazz, blues and roots vocalist's continued prominence is simple: Muldaur is profoundly talented. Though perhaps best known for her 1974 top ten hit, "Midnight at the Oasis," this certified pop star has embarked on an adventurous, decades-long odyssey through various forms of American Roots Music. Nominated in 2005 for a Grammy in the Traditional Blues Category for her album Sweet Lovin' Ol' Soul, this Baby Boomer icon continues her musical journey with a live performance at Highway 99 Blues Club and Restaurant. Seating is comfortable, but if you want to see the performers play --e.g. strumming the guitar, you would need to sit where you face the front of the state, as they might not turn toward your side as they perform.Michael Shrieve's Spellbinder info • Jun 30 2014 star this tip starred

“There’s no boogie-woogie blues piano man out there today who pounds the 88s with the conviction of Kenny ‘Blues Boss’ Wayne.” —Chicago Sun-Times
Kenny “Blues Boss” Wayne from Vancouver, B.C. is one of the masters of the 88’s. Hailed as an artist who is bringing the piano back to the front ranks of the blues and a HWY 99 regular, Kenny’s New Orleans boogie-woogie has led to international tours and multiple JUNO awards (the Canadian Grammy). Simply one of the best, Wayne mixes Kansas City swing and West Coast Jump blues for an unforgettable stage show.
